At the age of 18, he became the youngest CEO of the million-dollar organization ‘Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival’. The organization holds towards the true value of talent considering creativity and new talent.

Moreover, it’s India’s only independent international film festival, with a mission to celebrate the cinema and work of aspiring, young, independent & professional filmmakers.

Soon after, Abhishek joined the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as the advisory panel member into the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Government of India, claiming to be the youngest advisory member in the nation.He has censored more than 200 films to date. He then began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 20. Apart from it, he has been involved in CSR activities, by donating for Bharat Ke Veer, acid attack victims and more.

On how the industry can revive, he says that ready films can be released on OTT or TV, outdoor shoots should have a maximum of 25 people.

Indian Short-video app Rizzle – A Secure Platform for Women Creators Across the Globe

Khaali Peeli Movie Releases on Zee Plex on 2nd October

Khaali Peeli is the story about two childhood sweethearts, Pooja and Blackie, who get separated due to some circumstances, during the young age. But a situation brings them back together, which leads to a series of ‘chase and escape’ situations in a taxi and hence the movie has been titled Khaali Peeli. From action to romance to blockbuster songs and chase sequences, Khaali Peeli has all the right ingredients to entertain the audience. The movie has been directed by Maqbool Khan and produced by Zee Studios, Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Kishan Mehra. While the story is by Maqbool Khan, the film is written by Yash Kesarwani and Seema Aggarwal.

At the same time, Vijay Sethupathi and Aishwarya Rajesh’s Ka Pae Ranasingam can be watched on Zee Plex. This film will also premiere on October 2 and will be available both on television and digital platforms. Ka Pae Ranasingam is set to become the first Tamil film to premiere on television on a pay-per-view basis. Ka Pae Ranasingam focuses on the struggle of farmers and how the corporate sector exploits the natural resources. Mumbai: Budding lyricist and YouTube sensation Deepak Jeswal has reached another milestone in his career. His debut ghazal Tere Qareeb, which used all live instruments during recording, has become an instant hit among the netizens and garnered 1,323 326 views within a day of its online launch. The romantic rendition and its endearing video reminisces the excitement of falling in love.

For the song, the lyricist, who has written many songs for other platforms besides YouTube,  has collaborated with his frequent collaborator Archita Dinanath Bhattacharya and Arnab Chatterjee. Their poignant voices and the music of real instruments just added the right feel and emotion to the song.

“Arnabda (Arnab Chatterjee) and I go back a few years, wherein he had done music arrangements for a set of our songs. The music was fantabulous and we have remained in touch since then. One day he asked me to write a light romantic ghazal and he’d compose it. Well, that sparked an idea in me. I referenced Jagjit Singh ghazals like Tumko dekha toh yeh khayal aaya (Arth) and came up with my original thought in similar flavor. Officially, this is my first recorded ghazal. So, it’s a moment of excitement for me. Second, we have gone and used all live instruments in the song. It was such a huge fun to interact with such talented musicians and hear their anecdotes, as they gave life to our thoughts and songs ,” said an elated Jeswal.

The video was shot in locations in and around Mumbai. Directed by Vinay Niranjan, the video features TV actor Michael Rajput and Shruti Puranik in the lead.  Live instruments are the USP of the song. It’s rare for a newer release to have every aspect of the song recorded live via played music. Not even a minor sound is programmed. Even the slightest sound of the shaker is created live.

When asked how it was working with Arnab again in this song, “Arnab da and I worked closely for about 7-8 songs in the past. We both love live instruments. Our discussion is usually centered around which instrument to use and how. Arnab da is very talented and has a superb music sense and Depth of clarity in his arrangements.”

2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards: National Geographic India Wins Asia’s Best Infotainment Programme

New Delhi: National Geographic India has achieved a new milestone and bagged Asia’s Best Infotainment Programme in 2020 for its made-from-home documentary – ‘Lockdown: India Fights Coronavirus’ at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards, held recently in Singapore. Competing against the best of films from Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan, the official entry from India won the award that recognises the best of the best works in content creation and media production from Asian countries.

With Lockdown: India Fight Coronavirus, National Geographic India took its authentic and immersive storytelling style a notch higher and stood in solidarity to salute the brave hearts by capturing their unique and inspiring stories. Directed without a single member of the crew stepping out of their houses, the team stitched together self-shot sequences and archival footage from the protagonists themselves to showcase an unseen and moving narrative of their daily battles.  From the first line of defence to the unsung heroes, the documentary brought to life the pandemic from the eyes of India’s frontline soldiers and attempted to paint a complete picture as various Government and Non-Government Agencies came together to fight this deadly virus.

Behind the scenes of Hotstar Specials presents Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors with Directors Rohan Sippy and Arjun Mukerjee

Hotstar Specials recently announced the highly-anticipated next chapter of the popular franchise Criminal Justice titled Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors. Pankaj Tripathi is returning to portray the role of lawyer Madhav Mishra, who is fighting the toughest case of his career. The prime accused Anu Chandra, portrayed by Kirti Kulhari, has confessed to stabbing her husband, an eminent lawyer – Bikram Chandra and is guilty in the eyes of law. While many believe it to be an open-and-shut case, Anu’s subsequent silence and unwillingness to defend herself begs the question – is there more to the case than what meets the eye? 

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios, this 8-part courtroom drama series has been directed by Bollywood’s Rohan Sippy, Arjun Mukerjee and written by Apurva Asrani; and is set to launch on 24th December 2020 in 7 languages on Disney+ Hotstar VIP. Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors is one of the few stories in India to showcase the life and ordeal of women in prison. 

Revealing what went into making Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors,  Rohan Sippy and Arjun Mukerjee shared their experiences. 

On continuing Madhav Mishra’s character played by Pankaj Tripathi 

Rohan Sippy said “I think that the cast is perfect. One of the great creative decisions was to continue the character that Pankaj Tripathi is playing which is not the case in the original British show. But here, we decided to continue that, and I think it’s one of the strengths of the show to have him at the heart of it.” 

Speaking to real-life lawyers for research 

Rohan Sippy added “The research was done speaking to lawyers – both before we set out to write the show and even once we had started writing. Dialogues were also run by lawyers to make sure that we get the nuances right and also explore the legal side so we can maximize the drama in the show. This was also very important because the original show was set in the British legal system which had a jury and that had to be changed a lot because we don’t have that system here, so that was a very challenging part of the process which Apurva and the creative team handled well.”

Recreating women’s prison on screen

Arjun Mukerjee: “Designing the prison set was a little difficult because it is almost impossible to get references and actual footage or shots of a prison. So, some of the production crew members went to a women’s prison and tried to get in some areas, spoke to the warden, etc. It was a difficult job and our team did really well to create a very atmospheric and large space for us to work in. The realness of the prison also helped me and Rohan, and obviously the actors, to get into the skin of the role, feel the atmosphere and the darkness in the hard conditions, so that was fun.”

Entire season was shot in 2 months 

Rohan Sippy: “Total number of days for the season’s shoot was somewhere close to about 60-70 days. We shot at three different locations, the women prison, police station which is always a central part of any crime show and the last one being Anu Chandra’s house where she and her family are living. But, while filming this series, our sole idea was to showcase how a woman from her beautiful and sophisticated world is thrown into the prison, something completely hostile and alien to her. While there were other locations too, these three locations are the heart of the show and will create the mood.”

Hyderabad: Users can now easily enjoy the vast multilingual and multi-genre library of Hungama Music, one of the leading music streaming services in the country, on Google Assistant. Accessible through simple voice commands on Google Assistant on supported smartphones and on Google Nest smart speakers, the feature will enable consumers to ask their Google Assistant to play individual tracks, playlists, albums, songs of specific artists, from genres or for occasions and festivals. Using voice commands to play music gives users the freedom to continue with their work without having the need to manually select or change their music on their devices.

Users can explore Hungama Music’s library of over 15 million songs in 20+ Indian and international languages by linking their Hungama Music account from the Google Home app. They can also make Hungama Music their default music streaming service, eliminating the need to specify the music service name when asking Google Assistant. Once activated, listeners can use commands like “Okay Google, play Diwali songs on Hungama Music” or “Okay Google, play Channa Mereya on Hungama Music”, or “Okay Google, play Bollywood Top 40 on Hungama Music”, and so on to listen to their preferred music.
