The Ultimate Strategy to beat Video Poker Machines

Video Poker has become one of the most widely played casino games since its inception in 1970. There are many reasons behind that, the most prominent one being that Video Poker gives the players the highest odds of casino gambling. Yes, you heard that right, it is a casino game where your skill and knowledge and a tiny bit of luck can make all the difference. This game also comes with the added advantage of anonymity, which means you won’t have to deal with pit bosses, dealers, and such. So now that you know what’s good about the game, you should also know how to beat the competition. JungleRaja brings to you the ultimate strategy to own and beat Video Poker Machines.

Basic Strategy

The one thing you shouldn’t do in Video Poker is guessing. So don’t just go guessing, expecting to win millions. Have an optimum poker strategy and avoid losing millions. You can also practice on a computer before risking money on a live video poker game.

Choosing the Right Pay Table

Video poker is unique in the way that the game will show you your expected return on your money. That makes it imperative to do some research and choose the paytable that will benefit you the most. You should select a paytable that has a lesser house edge and offers more return to the player.

Beat Jacks or Better Video Poker

One of the most enthralling and exciting games in Video Poker, Jacks or Better is one of the most rewarding sports. So here are some crucial tips to win at this.

  • Always play the max- Playing maximum coins ensures that you get a bonus win if you hit a royal flush. You can also bet lower, but that would devoid you of receiving any bonuses.
  • Keep it slow- While gambling, it’s important to remember that the house always has an edge. The more you play, the more you lose, the secret is to play slower and cut down on hourly losses. Playing slower gives you a longer playing time meaning a higher chance to hit the sweet royal flush.
  • Joining a players Club- A players club ensures that you get a chance to get exclusive bonuses that clubs only offer to their most valuable players. Joining a players club also makes sure that the house edge reduces in the long run.
  • Progressive Jackpot Video Poker Machines- Jacks or better offers some of the best progressive jackpots which help in getting you big profits on small bets. Make sure you play progressive jackpot on machines that provide a big paytable, and you are ready to go.
  • Bonuses and offers – Bonuses and promotions are relatively common. It would help if you kept an eye out for them as they give you free money to bet and win from. Don’t hesitate to ask for bonuses in the Video Poker because until you ask you won’t receive. Be Bold!

Things to avoid

  • Kicker- Many players retain a kicker in the hopes of a higher payout. It is a mistake and should be avoided in Video Poker games.
  • The Flush- Don’t hoard three cards in the hopes of getting straight or flush, that only ensures that you end up on the losing side. The only time when you should hold three cards is when you are sure you can pull off a flush in your quest for the big payoff.

Video Poker is exciting with amazing rewards to complement it with. But before you dive right in, make sure you are well versed with the do’s and dont’s of the game so that you win big and lose little and have the time of your life.

What’s the Relationship Between Music Genres and Personality Traits?

$
0
0

The relationship between music genres and personality traits has always attracted the attention of experts in many fields of science. Those who chose to examine these relations often changed the way they categorized genres.
In some studies, for example, they used a list of genres, other times they placed the most popular genres in one of the categories formed on the basis of music characteristics, such as rhythm and complexity, etc. It was regularly tried to be checked which stereotypes are related to the values, inclinations, and habits of fans of certain music genres.

Is There a Consensus in Judging People Based on Their Musical Preferences?

People make similar conclusions about fans of a music genre, but the degree of agreement of evaluators isn’t always the same. For example, the level of agreement is high among fans of classical music and low among fans of pop and blues. Also, within the same musical direction, the degree of agreement in the assessment varies for different categories of what is being assessed.

When it comes to assessing the basic personality traits, the degree of agreement of the assessors is quite high but, of course, it varies depending on the musical direction. One study singles out, for example, a similar prototype of a rock fan and a rap fan. This prototype is characterized by high extraversion, mediocre pleasure, and low conscientiousness.

What about the similarities or differences between music fans in various countries. An interactive chart made by statisticians might help us with this as they compared 20 chart-toppers in 22 different countries in the last 10 years in order to understand why exactly these songs made a breakthrough to the No. 1. Each song was described with several characteristics (genre, key, tempo, energy, danceability, and time signature).

This unique chart tells us that, for instance, that in the USA, a pop song, written in key C, with a tempo of 111 BPM, and time signature 4/4 has the best chance of success. In terms of energy and danceability, these numbers are 63 out of 100 and 65 out of 100, respectively.

Powered by Betway

In a chart, you can check out in what country the tempo was most upbeat, where more energetic and where more relaxing songs prevailed, and where did danceability dictate the top of the charts.

Are Our Estimates Correct?
Yes and no. The validity of musical stereotypes has been shown to vary. Stereotypes related to classical, religious, and country music, as well as jazz, had the highest validity, which practically means that we make the least mistakes when, based on the preference of these genres, we make a conclusion about an individual, a fan of that genre.
But you have to be careful here, too. While in jazz, for example, stereotypes have greater or lesser validity, in classical music estimates of value have noticeably greater validity, and in heavy metal, personality assessments have the greatest validity.

What Characteristics of Music Do We Use in Reasoning?

Through the extensive statistical analysis, researchers came to a list of characteristics of music that are important indicators of someone’s personality. So it turned out that when we conclude about whether an individual is an extrovert, we use the energy and enthusiasm contained in the music, as well as the presence of singing.
According to the results, the attributes of music (melodies, songs) are more important to us than the musical direction to which the song belongs. And estimates based on these traits are often more accurate due to the correlations that achieve the characteristics of music with personality traits. For example, the complexity of the music is positively correlated with openness and verbal abilities, but also the political liberalism of people.

MUMBAI:  Amazon Prime Video today unveiled the trailer for the much-anticipated Malayalam film, Sufiyum Sujatayum, which makes its global premiere exclusively on the service and is the fourth of the seven Indian films in five languages to do so. Directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas, Sufiyum Sujatayum is produced by Vijay Babu under his banner of Friday Film House. Come this July 3, Prime members in India and more than 200 countries and territories worldwide can watch the much-awaited movie in Malayalam.

“Our endeavor is to create something which leaves behind a lasting impact and Sufiyum Sujatayum is a film made exactly on those lines. The theme of the movie is one that hasn’t been explored very often. The story is nuanced and complex, yet underlines one simple, universal truth – that love knows no rationality or bounds. There would not have been a more perfect choice than Aditi Rao Hydari and Jayasurya for the respective roles as both are known to do justice to every character that they portray. The music makes the movie a fitting tribute to the all-important emotion of love.  With the movie releasing on Amazon Prime Video we are glad that the film will reach a global audience allowing them to revel in Malayalam cinema,” commented Producer Vijay Babu.

Sufiyum Sujatayum is a special film for me. I been lucky to work with some incredible people across India, and this film marks my debut as the leading lady of a Malayalam film,” said Aditi Rao Hydari. “The film is an innocent love story, where love is unburdened by prejudices and discrimination. The movie is a drama and narrated with a lot of sensitivity and honesty. I had a great time working on the movie, it was challenging to work with some very brilliant colleagues and crew members. I’m really looking forward to the audience’s response. I hope they get immersed in the world of Sufi and Sujata like I did and I hope everyone makes their own special connection to the characters and the story.”

“The Malayalam film industry is known for rolling out good stories,” said Jayasurya, one of the biggest superstars in the Malayalam film industry. “Sufiyum Sujatayum too keeps up with the tradition and depicts a story of a beautiful girl with an incomplete love-story. I play the role of the husband to Aditi’s character. An interesting and nuanced role of a husband that knows of his wife’s love for another man, and tries to find ways to keep his family together. There’s a lot that we’re trying to convey through the film and one will have to watch the movie and be part of it to know how beautifully these sequences take place”.

The film is shot by cinematographer Anu Moothedath and edited by Deepu Joseph. The soulful music in the film is composed by the talented M Jayachandran with lyrics penned by Hari Narayan and songs sung by Sudeep Palanad. The film is brought together by executive producer Vinay Babu.

Unravel the mystery of Bhangarh with Kahanikaar Sudhanshu Rai’s latest horror story

The existence of ghosts and spirits has been debated for centuries, but most of these debates have ended been inconclusive. Those who are bitten by the travel bug and have a thing for supernatural often take special delight in visiting places that are believed to be haunted. The list of haunted places in India is a long one, comprising abandoned forts, deserted villages and spooky hotels. But if there’s one place that tops every such list is the Bhangarh Fort, located near Alwar in Rajasthan, and merely 300 km away from our national capital. Kahanikaar Sudhanshu Rai’s latest horror story in Hindi makes us explore the hidden world of Bhangarh, a fort originally established by Madho Singh in 1631.

The protagonist of the story is Siddhartha Mishra, a renowned filmmaker whose tryst for the best film of his career brings him to the mighty forts of Bhangarh. Siddhartha and his crew are already spooked as they have heard numerous folklores and stories about how the place is an enigma. In his bid to gain authentic feel for his story, he arrives with his cast and crew, which includes a fading Bollywood star Kabir, at the fort and decided to film a shot in the darkness of night. Since their arrival, members of the crew continue to experience some unusual happenings. Despite their repeated requests, Siddhartha remains firm on his idea of shooting a sequence inside the fort at night.

But when they venture inside the fort, they had no idea about what would unfold in the moments ahead. Siddhartha pays no heed to the warnings by the guard at the fort as well as defies his strict call for not going beyond 500 metres from the entrance. What really happened when they started filming the sequence close to the fort? Was there really someone behind them breathing over their neck? Who were the distorted creatures who could be seen atop trees? Will Detective Boomrah be able to unravel the mystery?

These answers can be ascertained by listening to the story that is certain to send chills down your spine. Several stories have been written and films shot with Bhangarh as the basic premise, but hardly anyone has succeeded in depicting the true imagery and ambience of the haunted legend that’s Bhangarh. But the same does not stand true in the case of Kahanikaar Sudhanshu Rai’s story of Bhangarh Fort. You need to listen to it to experience it yourself!

Music Producer Lalit Pandit talks about quarantine, music and more on Insider Talks

Mumbai :A virtual chat show by Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, which is hosted by Kiran Joneja, recently featured Lalit Pandit of the popular Indian Film Industry’s music duo Jatin-Lalit. Known for his work in classic movies like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Mohabbatein, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Lalit Pandit opened up about his journey as a music director and composer in the Bollywood film fraternity.

Mr. Pandit began with acknowledging how much of a boon the internet has been during these times and how it has continued to provide artists a platform to showcase their art even while being at home, how shows like Insider Talk are allowing their voices to be reached out to a greater audience. When asked about Bin Tere Sanam which was his first composition and first release as a Music Composer, he mentioned that out of all the Jatin-Lalit songs that have been remixed this song has been remixed  the most number of times. This song was a super hit and was remembered more than the film itself which is a great mark of success for any music composer. The success of this song paved the way for the musical duo to make their presence stronger in the Indian film and music industry.
Upon being asked about how a composer gets inspired to make a tune, Mr. Pandit said, “Experimentation, listening and practice are really important things. During my first song itself, I was young, I was in college. I used to play a lot of different musical instruments, like the piano, the guitar. I was very keen on the different sounds and tones it could produce and I kept practising and experimenting. And the song was made during this time so we barely expected it to become such a huge hit. So I guess, it’s just about being passionate, practising and experimenting until you get it right one day.” He went on to add, “I was travelling in an auto back from college one day and I heard my song playing in the same auto, on the radio for the first time. And I can’t express how wonderful that moment was for me. I was so excited to tell someone about it but there was nobody there at that moment except the auto driver. I ended up enthusiastically telling him – ‘bhaiyya, yeh mera gaana hai’.”
While speaking about remakes and remixes, Kiran Joneja asked Mr. Pandit about how he feels as a music composer  when he listens to a differently rendered remake of his own song. “To be very honest, it is rare for a composer to like a lot of the remakes that are made of their original songs. However, some of them are very tastefully done. I really love Javed Ali’s version of Bin Tere Sanam, I think it was very beautifully covered.”
Lalit Pandit spoke about how consistency is an extremely important factor to make it big in the industry. Having a burning passion for what you do is equally as important as being dedicated towards it. Mr. Pandit stressed on how commitment towards your art can go a long way. “We used to be extremely passionate and sincere about our work. We did not have it easy. A big film would be very particular about its music and for our compositions to make the cut, we also had to be consistently good and upto the mark.” He said.
Speaking about one of  his hit Bollywood numbers – ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’, he said, “When I made Arbaaz and team listen to this song, they absolutely loved it. The film did not really have room for this song initially, but Salman and Arbaaz loved the song so much that they chose to incorporate it by replacing a whole action sequence and it did wonderfully for the film.”
Mr. Pandit spoke about his contribution to his family’s musical capacity, “My main motto was to elevate my family’s music, I wanted to see us do better as a team. As a duo, the music Jatin and I created was always ahead of its time. I was extremely keen on technicalities and I always tried to experiment and improvise while recording the songs. Jatin was great with his romantic style and I was great with my Indian and contemporary styles and modern production technique. This is why we made a great duo.” Adding to this he also said, “Music Direction as a profession is not a simple art. You need to reach out to the audience. Technicalities are important, yes but more than that it is about the emotions a song carries. Songs by Kishore Kumar and Lata ji at times were not recorded well, there was no proper set up. But these songs are evergreen because they were soulful, they were heartwarming.”
Mr. Pandit also did a short live performance along with his two sons during the session. He mentioned that even during the lockdown, they sit together every evening as a family and sing a few songs together just to keep the spirit alive at home. Music is surely food for the soul.

When the kids performed my first song ‘Odh Li Chunariya Tere Naam Ki’ it took me back to the days when I had just started my musical journey. We also did a fun performance with the kids of my song ‘Naam Hai Tera’ in which Deepika Padukone made her debut, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia.’

Why India doesn’t watch Indian documentaries?

Article By: Gyaneshwar Dayal

Have you ever paid to see an Indian documentary? I am sure most people haven’t and the chosen few who paid for it paid to the OTT or their cable TV subscription and not for the documentary per se. Why is it that the country that makes the maximum number of feature films in the world does not have a documentary watching culture? Why is it that the documentary films have remained a nonstarter in the country that loves to watch cinema. And if you say Indian audience is just not educated enough for the documentaries you miss the point. There is indeed a big audience for such films, if you don’t trust me go to any documentary film festival where people fall over each other to secure a seat.

We have come a long way from the sixties and seventies when Films Division showed clips of prime minister’s foreign trips or visiting dignitaries as documentaries and people walked out thinking it was time to go to the restroom. These boring documentaries   were shown because there was a government institution whose sole job was to make documentaries and the government could dictate its terms to theatre owners. These documentaries were of the government and by the government. Doordarshan the public broadcaster in 80 took it to the next level. This was the golden age of Doordarshan style documentaries.  In the days of Doordarshan, the documentaries that were made had a purpose – to fill the airtime and make money. So there came a breed of documentary filmmakers who were happy to make documentaries about Mangos and Forts of India. Everyone was happy except the viewer.

The documentary filmmakers couldn’t less. The result was that never an audience could be nurtured and cultivated which could relish documentaries and could sit through a feature-length documentary of one hour. Which was typically less than half of the time normally taken to watch feature films. The present sorry state of documentary filmmaking in the country stems from this legacy. It has had a lasting effect. Today no one wants to pay for documentary films. There is a total disconnect between documentaries and the audience. People would rather buy a ticket to watch a C-Grade blockbuster rather than watch a well made documentary.

And it is not only the fault of the system or audience, but the documentary filmmakers are also to blame. They all thought they had made a good film even if it was like pushing a bitter pill down the throat of a child. In their defense, they said that the Indian audience was not mature enough. They however never asked themselves if they were mature enough to come down to the level of their audience. Unlike in the West we hardly ever have a theater release of a documentary. The documentary is something that should be made on funding and seen for free. Who buys a documentary or who goes to watch a documentary in a theatre? It is largely a film festival phenomenon (which can be counted on fingers) and sidekick filler for major national film festivals.

Some very talented filmmakers tried to make a documentary or two and soon realized that it was a nonstarter, so they moved to the feature film which promised fame or money and sometimes both. Not to say that parallel cinema was not worth it, but the people who could make good sellable documentaries just did not give enough effort; skilled directors like of Satyajit Ray, Shyam Benegal, Prakash Jha, Kabir Khan or Anurag Kashyap moved past the documentaries and carved a niche for themselves in “parallel cinema”.

The documentary filmmaking is closely related to activism. Have you recently heard of a film being made or shown on lynching, Shahin Bagh or for that matter Migrant laborers moving on foot in wake of lockdown? It is not that these films were not made; the truth is it would never reach the audience. The documentary TV channels or the news channels simply do not have guts to broadcast a hard-hitting documentary or a documentary that uncovers some inconvenient truth, so they are happy to show documentary on ancient aliens or efforts to find the hidden treasures. To watch these documentaries you would have to go to New York or Toronto.

It is not that the informative documentaries are not documentaries. It is like saying that feature film should only be about lost brothers. The Indian documentary filmmakers made the whole genre a nonstarter by either catering to the foreign audience or making films on topics that nobody bothered except their funders. The big established names in Indian documentary filmmaker were happy to make films for their funders who they easily find but never shed a tear about the home scene for documentaries.

It is not to take a pessimistic view about the future of documentary films. Indeed good Documentary films are being made in India, but little is done to make them commercially self-sustaining. The foreign funds are not enough to make Indian documentary films sustainable.  No art form ever thrives on doles and state funding. It should be sellable to its audience else it dies a slow death. Even funding kills the spirit of the documentary as it is tailor-made as per the wishes of the funder.

Even nonprofits who are a big source of funding for documentary films don’t hesitate to put their promotional angle in the film. So theatre release is the only way out. And it is not as difficult as it may sound. If there were provisions of bank loan for such films and not grant the documentary filmmaker would indeed make it happen as he has to reach his audience. A cinema ticket one fourth the price of ticket of a feature film, assuming it was tax exempted would make it commercially viable

To make the documentary filmmaking an independent and free from external pressures, the documentary filmmaker must have a way to finance his venture. unlike in the West, where documentaries can be shown on dedicated documentary channels like Channel 4, we are still waiting for such a channel.

by Sachin Murdeshwar
Mumbai : From the time’s when makeup wasn’t a trending Instagram hashtag, this make-up artist turned her marketing career into something that she always had a passion for. The story of Cherry Deol, a make-up artist with absolutely no background in the field of make-up, rose from nothing to what she is today, a brand in herself, to success.

 Q. So tell us how Makeup by Cherry started

The journey has been amazing through all these years. I needed a direction to guide me to move towards my intended goal, which I’ve always had a passion for. I wanted to be an artist, I wanted to create, transform and be able to beautify anything and everything. When I graduated and started my job in the field of marketing, my mind always used to wander off into the field of artistry. So I finally gave up my job and entered the world of beauty.

Q. Talking about your passion to create & transform, how would you describe your ability to do it?

Since this profession requires dedication to train yourself every time a new trend hits, it’s the keenness to learn that keeps you going. I never stop learning and creating. Transformations to me is one of the most satisfying things. When I enhance the features of a beautiful face, that first reaction of my client is what gives me immense pleasure.

Q. What were the challenges that your had to overcome when you began your career as a Make-up Artist?

Well for starters, the make-up industry had a lot of newly trained artist’s. For me, it was all about my skills getting polished. I knew that it wouldn’t be easy to initially get clients who’d book you for their weddings, but polishing my skills was a priority for me. So I started with small events, making my way through building my portfolio, gaining experience, and finally reaching my goal by getting into the Bridal Make-up category.

Q. Apart from Make-up, you also run an NGO, can you tell us a little about that?

Yes, I run an NGO called “Candyman Animal Relief Foundation” named after my golden retriever. This NGO is run alongside my parents who have had the love for stray animals since quite a long time now. Contributing towards the wellness of these voiceless animals is what keeps us going, giving us an aim in life to help wherever we can.

Q. Is it difficult now that the world is going through a pandemic?

How has it affected the Make-up Industry?Weddings all over the world are affected, and people in India, where weddings are enormously grand, have been hit hard. The make-up industry along with the wedding vendors are going through a halt, it might take a while for things to get back on track. We have however started taking precautions and ensuring that our equipment is well sanitised and safe for the clients.

Q. Lastly, any tips for the aspiring Make-up Artists out there?

The tip is to never stop learning. We all know practice makes perfect, hence you should never stop practising. In order to achieve your goal, it’s important to keep trying and experimenting different looks on yourself or your friends. The more you practice, the better result you’ll get. Never give up, love your job and you will eventually get there one day. Cherry will soon be starting her Makeup School where she will be giving world class training to the aspiring makeup artist to be!

Aditya Chopra pens a heartfelt note on YRF 50

$

‘The secret of YRF 50 are the PEOPLE!’ : says Aditya Chopra, as he thanks the entire industry, everyone who has associated with Yash Raj Films, the biggest production house of India, through its glorious 50 years
In 1970, my father Yash Chopra, left the security and comfort of his brother Mr. BR Chopra and formed his own company.

Till then, he was a salaried employee of BR Films and didn’t own anything of his own. He did not know how to run a business and did not even have the basic knowledge of what goes into making a company. All he had was a strong belief in his talent and hardwork and a dream to be self-reliant. That conviction of a creative man backing nothing but himself and his art, gave birth to Yash Raj Films. Mr. V Shantaram, who owned Rajkamal Studios, graciously gave him a small room in his studio for his office. My father didn’t know then, that the small company that he started in a tiny room, would one day become the biggest film company of the Indian Film Industry.

In 1995, as Yash Raj Films (YRF) entered its 25th year, my directorial debut film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge released. The historic success of that film gave me confidence to give wings to some crazy risky ideas that I had for the future of YRF. Besides the immense love that my father had for me, he now also had a lot of faith in my ideas because of the miraculous success of my film. I had foreseen the advent of international corporate studios coming to India and taking over our business. I wanted us to achieve a certain scale, so that we could retain our independence before they came in. My father contradicted his own conservative mindset and bravely indulged all my bold initiatives. And in a span of 10 quick years, we went from a film production house to India’s first fully integrated independent film studio.
Across 5 decades YRF, at its core, has been a traditional company with deep-rooted old world values and a conservative approach to business. But at the same time it’s also been a bold forward looking company, constantly trying to push itself in embracing technology and innovations to be ahead of the curve. This perfect balance of traditional and modern is what defines Yash Raj Films.

Today, we enter the 50th year of Yash Raj Films. So, as I write this note, I’m trying to figure out what exactly is the secret of this 50 year success? What makes a company flourish for 50 years? Is it the creative genius of Yash Chopra? The audacious vision of his 25 year old upstart son? Or is it just plain luck? It’s none of the above. Its the PEOPLE.The people who worked in each and every YRF film for the last 50 years. My dad used to describe his journey with a poet’s line-Main akela hi chala tha janib-e-manzil magar, log saath aate gaye aur karvaan banta gaya(I walked all alone towards my destination, people kept joining and the caravan kept growing). Its taken me 25 years to fully understand this. The secret of YRF 50 are the PEOPLE…
The ACTORS who bared their souls through their performances.

The DIRECTORS who crafted the films to perfection. The WRITERS who created the memorable stories. The MUSIC DIRECTORS and LYRICISTS who gave us songs that became part of our lives. The CINEMATOGRAPHERS and PRODUCTION DESIGNERS who left indelible images on our minds forever. The COSTUME DESIGNERS and MAKEUP and HAIR STYLISTS who made even the ordinary look beautiful. The CHOREOGRAPHERS who gave us dance steps, which are part of all our celebrations. The SPOTBOYS, LIGHTMEN, SETTING WORKERS, DRESSMEN, JUNIOR ARTISTS, STUNTMEN, DANCERSand each and every crew member who have given their blood and sweat to all our films. The SENIOR EXECUTIVES and all the EMPLOYEES of YRF who worked tirelessly day and night with no individual glory or fame. And finally the AUDIENCE, who gave their love and faith to our films. These PEOPLE are the secret of our 50 year success. My deepest gratitude to each artist, worker, employee and audience of YRF.I dedicate these 50 years to all of you. You are what makes YRF.

But it’s not only YRF that is made by these artists and workers; it’s the entire Indian Film Industry. This is not only YRF’s success, it’s the success of the Indian Film Industry, which gave the platform for a self-made man to create a self-reliant, truly independent studio of the world. An industry, which gives an equal opportunity to each artist and worker to make a life for himself and his family. On behalf of my entire YRF family of artists, workers and employees, I thank the Indian Film Industry for allowing YRF to be part of your great heritage. The Industry where I met the most wonderful, talented and beautiful people. The Industry I hope to be part of in every lifetime…in any capacity whatsoever.
