Not everyone grows up wanting to become a Doctor who also perfects the art of Bharatnatyam. Rubaina Gambhir, whose bare feet are firmly planted in Classical dance world, is a case in point. Rubaina went for her Arangetram on 10 January, 2015 at Triveni Auditorioum, Tansen Marg, New Delhi. She began dancing at the tender age of 5.
Rubaina performed Pushpanjali, Alarippu, Jathiswaram, Varnam, Padams, Tillana at the event. She has practiced day in and day out for last six months for this show. To inaugurate the dancer’s journey the ceremonial Ghungroo Pooja was also done at a temple in Janakpuri, New Delhi. The event had live musicians who have come down from Chennai to participate in Rubaina’s journey. The chief guest at the show was Mrs. Nupur Kundu (Visual Artist).
Rubaina has been learning the form of art under the expert guidance of Guru Shmt. Usha Rao who was also present at the occasion. Rubaina is 14 years old and holds a senior diploma certificate in Bharatanatyam from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad; She is a student of Springdales School, Pusa road, New Delhi, who has been winning academic achievement award since years.
