Winter in Venice Opening Ceremony01 300x200 Winter in VeniceReturns toThe Venetian MacaoMacao : Winter in Venice will return once again to The Venetian Macao. Supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO),the winter extravaganza is returning for its third triumphant year at The Venetian Macao from Dec. 3, 2014 to Jan. 4, 2015.

Visitors to Winter in Venice can look forward to the latest addition to the show – “Infinity Bounce Trampoline Spectacular”. The trampoline-centric show combinescomputer controlled LED suits with stunning interactive lighting. Then there is the dazzling 3-D light and sound spectacular “Seasons of Wonder,” which will once again delight audiences by projectinga stunning light show onto the façade of The Venetian Macao. The outdoor area of The VenetianMacaowill be transformed into astunning outdoor winter fairyland dusted withartificial snow and featuring a 50-foot-tall Christmas tree, an ice-skating rink, non-stop live entertainment and winter food delicacies. Winter in Venice is a free-admission event.

The festival’s opening ceremony was held outside The Venetian Macao’s main entrance Wednesday evening among a crowd of visitors. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macau Government Tourist Office, andMr. Gunther Hatt, Executive Vice President of Operations, Sands China Ltd. presided over the ceremony. Entertainment included an exciting acrobatic aerial performance byKinetix, and the Venetian Opening Parade Spectacular featuring dozens of costumed characters performing a choreographed routine to a medley of Christmas music.

“Sands China is proud to present our signature seasonal extravaganza, Winter in Venice,which has returned to the Venetian Macao for its third year,” saidMr. Gunther Hatt, “Family-friendly events like Winter in Venice are also part of our contribution to making Macao into a world centre of tourism and leisure.”

Must-sees of Winter in Venice this year include “Infinity Bounce Trampoline Spectacular”, a hi-tech trampoline show that will see award-winning trampoline artists dressed in custom-made LED suits and providing a one-of-a-kind performance in the unique venue every hour from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.  Riding on the success last year, the “Seasons of Wonder” 3-D light and sound spectacular will be back this year. The dazzling festive show, which is powered by digital video mapping technology, takes visitors to a wintry journey themed around “Winter in Venice.” This nightly event involves projecting images onto the The Venetian Macao’s 43,000-square-feet façade every hour from 6 to 10 p.m.

On top of Winter in Venice, guests can also visitPenguins Undercover Ice World with the DreamWorks Gang– Asia’s biggest indoor ice sculpture exhibition, which is hosted at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiExpo Hall Ffrom now until Mar.8, 2015 for the fourth successive year. Visitors can witness ice renderings of Italian piazzas, bridges over canals and singing gondoliers, before meeting up with all-ice versions of the much-loved characters from “Shrek,” King Julien, Alex the lion and the Zoostersfrom “Madagascar,” Hiccup, Toothless and all of their Viking friends on the Isle of Berk from the “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise, and Po from “Kung Fu Panda.”

Winter in Venice Photo Competition

This year’s photo competition gives both Macao locals and overseas visitors a chance to capture their favourite magical moments from the events and attractions of Winter in Venice through the artistic view of their camera lenses, for a shot at the top prize of MOP 10,000. Photos can be submitted from Dec. 22, 2014 to Jan. 10, 2015 with the winning results announced Jan. 28, 2015. The winning photos will be displayed at the Winterin Venice Photo Exhibition at The Venetian Macao.
