This intense personal journey is set in the larger, bureaucratic world of Indian sports. It illustrates why a country with a population of 1.2 billion people cannot produce medal-winning athletes. How sheer, raw talent gets wasted or destroyed by corrupt and power hungry sports administrators of our country. Khwaabb is the story of two such athletes and their struggle to succeed in the cutthroat, debauched and mired world of Indian sports.

Recently the music of the movie was released in Mumbai by Bollywood’s Dabangg Khan aka actor Salman Khan, who has all the praise for the makers of the movie. “I have played almost all kinds of sports. I have done swimming, played football. I even used to play cricket, and I strongly feel that sports should be encouraged in the nation”, says the Bollywood star. Further, he says “When you watch Khwaabb, you realize that there are no facilities for training (for the budding sportspersons) and if there won’t be any facility, how would our sportspersons perform? And when these sportspersons do not perform in events like Olympics and do not win a medal, then we criticize them. There are problems, but absolutely no encouragement!”

The album is an eclectic mix of various genres of music. It includes a powerhouse title track sung by Sonu Nigam, composed by acclaimed musician Sandeep Chowta. The album has a rustic fun track- “TV ki Jai Ho” sung by Kailash Kher and a soft love ballad “Shamein” sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal. Both songs are composed by Sajjad Ali Chandwani. Young and extremely talented Amal Mallik has scored the soundtrack of the film. Top international drummer Virgil Donati has played for the title track, the lyrics for which have been penned by Sameer. The KHWAABB soundtrack brings together a great amalgamation of talent, music and flavors that music lovers would enjoy.

Talking about the movie, Director Zaid Ali Khan says, “Khwaabb started two years ago after I discussed my father`s idea with my colleagues and we decided to set up a team to execute it. It’s been a roller coaster ride since, but my team has been brilliant and immensely dedicated to this independent film project. The movie has been shot in 7 different locations including Jamshedpur, Morna UP, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Delhi, Faridabad and Dubai. It was a real challenge to shoot some underwater sporting action in India but we could capture some scintillating action scenes with the experience of Aharon Rothschild, our cinematographer from USA. The journey of Khwaabb has indeed been incredible. “

“It is important to bring awareness amongst the masses about the condition of Olympic sports in India, Khwaabb is a step in that direction. Everyone rejoices in winning, but it is the journey towards winning a medal which needs the real support”, says Producer Moraad Ali Khan.”

“Khwaabb” has been executed by a team of young individuals, many of whom are making their feature film debut. The lead pair, Navdip Singh and Simer Motiani had to undergo three months of intense training with some of the best coaches to get in shape for filming the sports action scenes. The makers of Khwaabb have not shy’ed away from experimenting or taking a chance with young and new talent. Khwaabb releases in theatres on the May 9th.
