It is admirable that these days when indigenous and traditional sports of yesteryears like Vitti Dandu have been sidelined by the aggressive Western games like cricket and football, Rajradha Movies has taken up the cudgels on behalf of producer Leena Deore to revive the game and present it in front of the audiences, who have been deprived of the nuances of the game.
The title of Vitti Dandu of the period film will set out to permeate the rare whiff of fragrance associated with the sports and make an attempt to revive the memories of people by taking them back to the golden era before independence set in the pre Independent days, by focusing on the backdrop of the era . The story of the film revolves around a grand father and his grand son.
A song Kheloo Chala Vikki Dandu, Govinda Govinda Govinda written by Shrirang Godbole, sung by Meghna Mishra and composed by Santosh Mulekar has been beautifully picturised on the young child actor Nishant Bhavsar. Though it is his debut film as a director, Ganesh Kadam shows a lot of promise as a director with his deft handling of the issue based theme and asserts that the unique and catchy song sets out to take the story swiftly forward and does not in any way make its pace slacken even a wee bit.
The film stars Ravindra Mankani, Yatin Karyekar, Ashok Samarth, Mrinal Thakur, Vikas Kadam, Gauhar Khan, Shubhankar Atre, Vaibhav Ambekar, Radhika Deore, Rajiv Athawale, Rajendra Patwardhan, Charudutt Bhagwat, Sanjeev Chavan and Aamir Tadwalkar in key roles. Story-Screenplay by Vikas Kadam & Abhiram Badkamkar has written the dialogues for the film. Vikas Kadam is the Creative director. Deepali Vichare is the choreographer for the film while Jayant Jatar is the Editor. Shailesh Awasthi is the Cinematographer while Sunil Rodrigues is the Action Director.
