The filmmaker Navjyot Bandiwadekar has been in words and gossip for the past few months regarding his future projects. Besides his upcoming bilingual film, he also shared his desire to make something for an international audience. Don’t you want to know what he wishes to craft and why?
Before we jump to that, do you think that movies have been considered a medium to portray India before the international audience? Navjyot Bandiwadekar says yes, and we too will agree with him. The filmmaker says that movies like Slumdog Millionaire have somehow illustrated only the shady and ugly side of India. Though the film is promising, editing the pictures of India from different perspectives has now become necessary.
“It won’t be amusing if people learn about Americans by watching movies like Marvels or about Indians from films like Hindi Medium. The film plays a big role in shaping the ethnic and national elements of any society,” says Navjyot Bandiwadekar.
Once, in an interview, Navjyot Bandiwadekar said, “India is not just the land of snake charmers; it has many beautiful things to paint on the broad canvas of cinema. From diversified cultures to scenic states with peculiar human traits and their lifestyles, we could tell the world about our zest and vitality. We need to show the world that we can indeed make content-driven films.”
Navjyot Bandiwadekar is reckoning on making a film with Bollywood actors that portray the beautiful side of India. Since this project will be made for an international audience like Chinese and Australians, Navjyot says the language of the film will be English. This is everything that we know about this project.
We have already seen Navjyot Badiwadekar’s previous works. His work has always reflected India most authentically by creating a balance between the positive and negative pictures of its society. The advertisements directed by Navjyot for Shiv Sena’s “Hich Ti Vel” campaign are proof.
