New Delhi : To warm up the chilling wintery evenings with the heart-warming tunes of Kumauni regional music, well known Kumauni folk singers (from Uttrakhand) including Heera Singh Rana, Gajendra Singh Rana, Kaushal Pandey, Moti Shah, Kishore Joshi, Bhagwat Manral & team are all set to perform at Kautik 2019, Uttrayani Festival. Scheduled for 12th January (5:00 pm onwards) at Labor Court Park, Giri Nagar Kalkaji, the magnificent musical evening will be hosted by Rajan Pandey. Kautik 2019 is organized by Kumauni Jan Samaj Delhi Trust with the kind support received from Delhi Government, Hindi Akademi and Shri Avtar Singh Kalka, MLA Kalkaji constituency.
Uttrayani fair is a great cultural and traditional celebration held every year on Makar Sakrantri in a number of places of Kumaun including Bageshwar, Rameshwar, Sult Mahadev, Haldwani, Almora with full energy and devotion. The celebration marks the end of winter breezes and starts of longer days delight. This year, the National City will reverberate with the devotional vibes of Uttrayani fair with the traditional Kumauni music beats.
Gajendra Singh Rana, a young voice of Kumauni music will be a part of the event. His hit albums include Leela Ghasyari, Raani Ghursyaani, Sushma, Maalu, Pushpa, Raajmati. Another name will be Heera Singh Rana, who is known as a most prominent singer & poet whose songs are known to describe the pain of the people of the hills. Besides, Kaushal Pandey, Moti Shah, Bhagwat Manral and Rajan Pandey will also be the part of the grand event.
Speaking on the same, Mr. Laxmi Narayn Bhatt President Kumauni Jan Samaj Delhi Trust said, “On the pious occasion of Makar Sankranti, we are blessed to organize this musical event with an aim of promoting the pleasant melodies of Kumauni music. Uttrayani fair holds great importance in Kumauni tradition and we are glad that this year many great artists of Kumauni music will be gathering here to celebrate the same. Along with celebrating the fair, methods of expanding the horizons of Kumauni beats across the national as well as international boundaries will be discussed.”
