Indian Panorama begins at IFFI in Goa

The Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) was inaugurated by Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare at Panaji in Goa today. It began with the screening of  Malayalam movie Olu  directed by  Shaji Karun  and Marathi short film Kharvas directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale.

26 feature films and 21 non-feature films will be screened in the Indian Panorama section of the IFFI. 26 feature films include six  Malayalam, 5 Bengali, 5 Hindi, 4 Tamil, 2 Marathi films and one  Telugu, Tulu, Ladakhi and Jasari film. The section also features four mainstream films – Padmavat, Tiger Zinda Hai, Raazi and Mahanati.

Out of 21 short films and documentaries in the non-feature film category, 8 are Marathi films, 4 English, 3 Malayalam, 3 Hindi and one  film each from Odia, Bhojpuri and Bengali.

Indian Panorama, which represents finest films from across the country, has proved an excellent platform for promoting regional cinema and talented filmmakers.  Cast and crew of both opening films – Olu and Kharvas – were felicitated on the occasion. Jury members of both feature and non-feature film category were also felicitated at the function.
