Mumbai: Anup Jalota, is a household name for Bhajans and Ghazals. His father, Bhajan exponent Purushottam Das Jalota was his mentor. In the fond memory of the Veteran Artist, Purushottam Das Jalota, under Jalota Welfare Foundation the 8th GLORY AWARDS – 2016 for the love of music will be hosted in Mumbai on 19th Jan 2016 at Nehru Centre, Worli.
This year the awards will be bestowed on Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Popular Multi Talented Singer Shri. Suresh Wadkar, Well known Playback Singer Smt. Hemlata, Noted Bharatnatyam Exponent Ms. Shweta Prachande.
The award function will be followed by Bhajan & Ghazal Sandhya by Padmashree Anup Jalota alongwith Ravi Tripathi, Sumeet Tappoo & Manjari and Nritya Chaturang by Nilanjana & Shakshi.

Details of Awards:
1. Bhajan Samrat Padmashree Pt. Purshottamdas Jalota Sangeet Seva Puraskar to- Veteran Flutist Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia.: He is an Indian classical flutist. Hari Prasad Chaurasia has won many Awards and Honoured international for his music.
2. Bhajan Maharshi Pt. Hari Om Sharan Bhakti Sangeet Puraskar to Popular Multi Talented Singer Shri. Suresh Wadkar: He is an Indian playback singer. He performs in both Hindi and Marathi films. Suresh Wadkar has also won National award for his singing.
3. Padmashree Dr. Ravindra Jain Bahumukhi Pratibha Puraskar to Well known Playback Singer Smt. Hemlata. She has been one of the most famous and successful leading playback singers in Bollywood[1] since the late 1970s. She is classically trained and has a unique style of singing which makes her stand apart from other playback singers of her era. She has also won awards for her singing in the early 70s.
4. Smt. Medha Jalota Shresthatam Medhavi Nrityangana Puraskar to Ms. Shweta Prachande: She is a Bharatanatyam dancer and known globally for her dancing skills. She also won awards nationally.
