Avishkar trust, the organization awarded for the best NGO in the state, is now on their hat-trick venture in the anti-drug campaign area. After the success stories of their two docu-fiction short films, Avishkar trust now steps into fiction film, this time its for the excise department. Padmasri awardee and eminent businessman Dr.CK menon extended his hands for the financial support.
Sathyan anthikkad, a famous film director in malayalam, did the honour to switch on the film in the inaugural function held at the collecterate conference hall, Thrissur. Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA inaugurated the function, in the presence of collecter Dr. A Kausigan IAS, rural SP Karthik IPS, excise deputy commissionor N S Salimkumar, deputy director of education T K Jayanthi, joint excise commissionar D Santhosh, Assistant excise commissionar C Jayanthivasan and the film makers.
The film is intended to exhibit in schools,state wide, as a part of the anti-drug awareness campiagn. Film is a collctive effort of ladies, the directoral duo being geetha joseph (drama -film artist) and beena gopinath(secretary of avishkar trust as well as director of the short film last call), while script by upcoming writer Hena. Natioanl and state awardee director M G Sasi will be the creative head for the film. Avishkar trust is working as a part of anti-drug campaign for the past few years. Along with that they are engageed in the waste management, traffic safty programmes and also gender justice activities.
