Mumbai : Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) the leader in 3D Animation and VFX training hosted the 12th, 24 FPS Annual International 
Animation Awards 2015 in association with United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) on December 14th, 2015, at the Sahara Star in Mumbai.
A number of special guests from the media and entertainment graced the occasion and were lauded for their fantastic contribution to the fine-arts industry under a new category of award introduced this year at 24 FPS called ‘Movers and Shakers’. Amongst those felicitated were Rajiv Chilakha, founder of Green Gold Animation and the maker of the popular franchisee ‘Chotta Bheem’; Soumitra Ranade Director of the upcoming crowd funded film” Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai ‘, E Suresh, founder of Studio Eeksaurus, who’s animated film ‘Fate Line’ won the prestigious Annecy Award this year; and Srinivas Mohan, three times National Award Winner & VFX Supervisor of ‘Baahubali’. Also present on the occasion was Manjari Fhadnis, best known for her work in Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na and who will be making her Marathi film debut in 2016.
Over 700 award invitees and 350 thoughts leaders in the field of Animation & Visual effects doffed their hats to honor the winners as they continue to inspire students pursuing a career in media and animation.
Mr. Ninad Karpe, MD & CEO of Aptech Ltd who was delighted to see the turnout for these years’ 24FPS said, “The record breaking number of students that have participated is only evidence to the fact that animation is a growing career with a strong growth potential. These awards are a way of appreciating their efforts as well as reigniting their passion for this career. It is also an excellent platform for them to speak to industry stalwarts and aspire to achieve greater things in the future.”
Mrs. Kiran Mehra-Kerpelman, Director, UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan said, “UNIC’s has continued to contribute to MAAC as they have always churned out material that is at par with international standards and is used to spread awareness on various social issues such as aging , climate change , children Democracy , Development , food , Human Rights , Peace & Security , Population , water and Women . Animation has a universal appeal and charm and is one of the best mediums to communicate. The number of students that have participated this year proves that it is not a passing fad, but a trend that will grow steadily and surely.”
Amongst various categories of awards that were given out, the most prestigious awards were given to MAAC Girish Park for “Script to Screen Animation Award”; MAAC South EX Center were declared the winners of the VFX challenge while MAAC Malad won the 3D Challenge.
