Marathi film industry has gained respect in all over as the world as the film industry known for making films 
which are very different from the run of the mill films.Thats the reason even Bollywood film stars can’t resist the temptation of working in Marathi films. Though it is true that if well known Bollywood star acts in a Marathi film, the film becomes the centre of attraction, Marathi film ‘Maat’ which is the debut Marathi film of Bollywood actor Isha Koppikar is very different from the usual Marathi films in every way. The film is creating waves due to its unique subject, high quality production values, the brilliant acting by actors and the meaningful as well as melodious songs and music given by popular duo Sandip Khare and Saleel Kulkarni. ‘Maat’ is presented by Sailee Dream Ventures and produced by Mrs Manali Mangesh Sawant. The music CD of the film was released in the presence of Chief Guest noted director N.Chandra, writer Anil Kalelkar, actor Pradip Kabare, Makrand Deshpande along with star cast of the film.
Along with the music release of ‘Maat’ which is presented by Sailee Dream ventures and produced by Mrs Manali Mangesh Sawant, the first look of the film was revealed .On this occasion the main actors of film such as Isha Koppikar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Tejashree Walawalkar, Suhas Palishikar, Manjusha Godse, Rajendra Shisatkar, music composer Saleel Kulkarni,singer Hrishikesh Ranade,Mithilesh Patankar, Producer Mrs Manali Mangesh Sawant, director Manohar Saravankar, Mangesh Tukaram Sawant owner of Sailee Group of Companies, story Writer Tejaswini Dinesh Pandit,Screen play and dialogue writer Sambhaji Sawant et all were present and the grand music release function took place in MIG club at Kalanagar, Bandra.
‘Maat’ is directed Manohar Saravankar and its story revolves around a small girl. While portraying the story of a girl called Mini Deshmukh,director Manohar Saravankar has tried to tackle a completely different social issue. There are two songs in the film and they are added as per the demand of the script. The lyrics for the both the songs are written by Sandip Khare and they are composed by Dr. Saleel Kulkarni. The romantic song “Don Paulankhalial Zali Ekrup Waat” is sung by Bela Shende and Hrishikesh Ranade and the song “Thakun Gele Paul Tarihi Basu Nako” is sung by Dr. Saleel Kulkarni himself and Mithilesh Patankar. Interestingly both the songs have been shot at very scenic locales in Goa and the audience will like to listen as well as watch these songs. Dance director Shreyas Panchal has choreographed dance sequences on both the songs. The audience will get to see the magical Goa captured through the camera lenses of noted Bollywood Cinematographer Nirmal Jani.
The story of ‘Maat’ is based on Tejaswini Dinesh Pandit’s novel ‘Setu’ and the screenplay and dialogues’ are written by Sambhaji Sawant. For the first time actors Isha Koppikar and Sameer Dharmadhikari have been paired together in the film and even actress Tejashree Walawalkar who has mostly acted on the small screen is making her debut on the silver screen. Along with these three actor, the remaining star cast of the film comprises of actors Suhas Palshikar, Meghna Vaidya,Manjusha Godse,Rajendra Shisatkar,Rajan Joshi,Suruchi Adarkar and other popular actors from the Marathi film industry. Noted actor the late Anand Abhyankar is also seen in the guest appearance in the film. Make up is done by Nishikant Ujawane costumes are designed by Santosh Gawade and hair style is done by Kusumtai. Anil Sawant and Yogesh Kumbhar are the executive producers of the film. Playback music is given by Aamir Hadkar and art design is done by Santosh Phutane. Pramod Purandare has looked after the sound designing and visual editing is done by Anil Thorat. Vishal Dalvi’s V team has managed to give unique VAFX special effects to the film and grandmaster Pravin and Bhagyashree Thipase has given a special contribution to the film. Devisha Films is looking after the distribution and marketing of the ‘Maat’.
