Bangalore: This Independence Day weekend, The Voice of Stray Dogs (VOSD) in association with The Humming Tree presents “Howling Mad”, a rocking fundraiser for the noble cause of rescuing and rehabilitating the stray dogs of Bangalore. Headlining the evening is Lagori, one of the most original sounds in Indian rock/ pop today. This memorable event will be held at The Humming Tree, Indiranagar on 16th August, 2015 at 9 pm. The tickets are priced at Rs.500/- only.
Every member of the band has distinctive influences that combine to make Lagori fresh, unique and very honest. They work up a mix of Indian Classical and Rock music which makes their music both, soulful and energetic. Lagori consists of Tejas Shankar (Vocals), Geeth Vaz (Electric/ Acoustic Guitar/ Backing Vocals), Edward Rasquinha (Acoustic Guitar/ Backing Vocals), Shalini Mohan (Bass Guitar/ Backing Vocals), and Vinyl Kumar (Drums/ Shakers/ Cajon/ Backing Vocals).
“Howling Mad” is the first of a series of musical performances that benefit VOSD. Featuring fabulous, dog-loving, rescue-supporting artists who share their time and talent to raise funds for a cause they believe in. And supported by venues who make it possible for these artists to perform at the highest level.
Every penny of the tickets you buy goes towards VOSD – there are no administrative costs, or miscellaneous expenses involved.
The event is a part of the fundraising campaign called the “VOSD 3015 Fundraiser”. 3015 stands for the ₹ 15 lacs VOSD spend every 30 days to keep the rescue operational (more information is available on http://3015.strays.in (<http://3015.strays.in/> ). Some of the other activities in the present fundraiser are:
· A charity dinner with sports-persons, film, fashion and social achievers & influencers in Bangalore
· 5 different events from now through the end of September including music, standup comedy, bake sales, theatre performances, and several other events
· Grammy-winning artist Ricky Kej will create and release a VOSD ringtone
· India’s leading fashion designers are lending their names to an exclusive VOSD line
· Formal announcements of these, and several other associations, will be made soon.
As you sway in the aisles of The Humming Tree, know that you’re supporting the largest, best run dog rescue in India. And the largest in any city of the world. Mr. Rakesh Shukla, VOSD Founder, mentions, “You contribute towards the ₹ 15 lakhs that VOSD spends in 30 days to run our operations. VOSD has helped treat 5,000+ dogs, and the VOSD Sanctuary is home to no less than 500. There are 0% administrative overheads at VoSD and hence 100% of what you contribute goes to the dogs.”
