The 44th International Film Festival of India held in Panaji will for the first time highlight cinema from the north eastern states of India. Opening ceremony for this section to include actors Seema Biswas and Adil Hussain. There will be a special north-east package named Focus: North East. The section will be inaugurated on November 22 and close on November 27.
And the opening ceremony guests will include Bollywood actors from Assam like Seema Biswas and Adil Hussain.A total 23 films from the north east in the section will be screened.This will include Ek Pal, as a special homage to its producer Hemendra Prasad Barooah.
The opening movie of the section will be Khawnlung Run, the first-ever Mizo film to be screened in any international festival.Among the films to be screened will be Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Aru Joymoti, directed by the late Bhupen Hazarika.
