Mumbai : The third edition of India’s largest educational exhibition, summit and awards – The Edutainment Show, An initiative of Event Capital, started in Mumbai with a grand opening with the inauguration by Subhash Ghai - filmmaker and Chairman, Whistling Woods International, Dr. Vijay V. Khole – Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Mumbai and the former VC of Mumbai University on 9th May 2015 at the J.W.Marriot, Juhu in Mumbai. The students at the Edutainment Show were seen attending sessions where they explored exciting career options in MEDIA, COMMUNICATION & DESIGN EDUCATION and participated in informative workshops with media stalwarts like Sameer Mody – CEO & Founder Pocket Films, Siddharth Tewary – Founder & Creative Director Swastik Pictures, Samar Nakhate – Mentor & Principal MET Institute of Mass Media & Ex – Dean FTII, Pune, Roshan Abbas – Director, Mentor Partner The Glitch, Ankur Tewari – Musician, Nilesh Kulkarni – Ex Cricketer to name a few.
Over 50 institutes in the fields of Media, Communication & Design participated in the exhibition. Some of the participants are NIFT Mumbai, Pearl Academy, Xaviers Institute of Communication, Whistling Woods International, Amity University, Raffles and many more Indian & International institutes. Students explored careers in fields like Fashion design, Films, Journalism, PR, Advertising, Radio, Performing arts, Music, Television, Jewellery, Graphic design, Photography, Animation design, VFX, Photography, Events, Digital, Disc Jockeying, Web Design, Gaming and Sports.
The key highlights of the show included Mr. Subhash Ghai’s welcome address that sparked the enthusiasm of students. The atmosphere at The Edutainment Show was electric with the excitement of students who were seen interacting with Mr. Siddharth Kannan, Mr. Prahlad Kakkar, Ms. Archana Kocchar, Ms. Sanaa Khan, and Mr. Raghu Ram not just at the sessions but also one-on-one. The students didn’t just seek counselling from the various speakers but were also exposed to various specializations in Media, Communication & Design at this two-day event. Specialists interacted with these enthusiasts on their life and times in their work, their work experience with the different environments and their expectations from the upcoming generation.
Several sessions were held as a part of ‘Luxury, Fashion & Style Conclave’ by FAD International & Accademia Del Lusso. Various renowned fashion and styling personalities like Rafelle Ferrante, Anita Khatri, Sameer Makani, Hemant Arora, Vikram Bawa, Sanaa Khan, Scherezade Shroff, Antara Motiwala, Archana Kochhar, Artivijay Gupta, Stephanie Timmins – Bestseller Group, Kshitij Kankaria – Amazon, Huzefa Katawala, Sanaa Khan, Maral Yazarloo, Roma Manjrekar, Jinita Sheth, Shivang Dhruva & many more were a part of panel discussions and workshops.
With a total of 35+ sessions on various topics like Power of Digital Communication, Craft in Design, Journalism and the New Media, Future of Event Management, Introduction on Styling, Art & Science of Storytelling in Advertising, Journalism, and Entertainment the students were enriched and encouraged on pursuing offbeat careers which hold a great potential in the new age.
While the first two years were a huge success in Mumbai, with over 40 top industry speakers and over 4000 students attending the exhibition and summit, The Edutainment Show 2015 grew to 3 cities - Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, creating the largest unified knowledge sharing platform of information, fun and education.
