Mumbai : The Courtyard of Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla witnessed a powerhouse of talent with some of the most versatile dancers of the city this Saturday. India Dance Week kick-started its second edition on 8th April 2015, with Sandip Soparrkar, one of the best choreographers in India who introduced this wonderful platform last year, 2014 at Phoenix Marketcity Kurla mall.
The ravishing and beautiful Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon graced the event to inaugurate India Dance Week’s second edition. The event started with a heart-warming performance by the kids of Smile Foundation on a Bollywood number where the crowd cheered for them as they danced to foot tapping beats.The audience then witnessed a mixed bag of performances by students of Sandip Soparrkar’s academy that lit-up the stage with various genres of dance like Bollywood, ballroom, bachata, hip hop, contemporary, street, and the likes. Participants were extremely enthusiastic and vibrant and made sure that there was never a dull moment for the audience.
Speaking on this occasion, Rajendra Kalkar, Senior Center Director said, “We are glad to see a fantastic response to the second edition of India Dance Week at Phoenix Marketcity mall.We are delighted to host these passionate dancers and provide them with a platform to showcase their talent. We thank Sandip Soparrkar, to conduct the second edition of this wonderful event where he has given all of us a wonderful experience. We hope to have many more editions of India Dance Week and other such associations with him in the future that will provide a platform to all the talented dancers in the city”.
Adding to this, Sandip Soparrkar said: “I was extremely excited and honoured when Phoenix Marketcity approached me to celebrate India’s Dance Week. The concept of ‘Dance Week’ encourages young dancers dance to their fullest potential in an environment of fun and frolic. The different styles to which they grooved at made the audience appreciate dance more than ever.”
Post the event, the guests were seen enjoying at the alfresco dinner seating at restaurants like 212 All Day Café & Bar, The Big Kahuna, The Irish House, Rain forest and Pizza Hut 212 All Day Cafe & Bar at The Courtyard.
