Mumbai,: The country’s best contemporary music college, Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM), is inviting applications for the Spring 2015 semester from India and abroad. Scheduled to begin in the month of January, the faculty line up for the Spring 2015 term has a balanced mix of renowned international and Indian artists such as Natalie John (USA), Carolina Calvache (Colombia), Steve Zerlin (USA), Karina Colis (Mexico), Ed De Genaro (Germany), Ujjayinee Roy (India), Sreyas Narayanun (India), Umayalpuram Mali (India) and more.
The courses offered as part of the Spring 2015 are
· One Year Diploma in Music Performance
· Two Year Diploma in Music Performance
· One Year Diploma in Music Production
· Four Year Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance (with McNally Smith College of Music, Minnesota).
The application window for the Spring 2015 batch will be open till January 20, 2015. The total fee for the Music Production course per semester is $5300 (or INR equivalent) and $7000 (or INR equivalent)per semesterfor Music Performance courses. The fee is inclusive of food, accommodation in fully furnished serviced apartments, and facilities like gym, pool, media lab and library.

The course will be a flexible one-year hybrid programme covering music production and technology, hardware and software tools, music theory and composition, performance skills, music business and marketing – equipping musicians to thrive in the digital age.
One of the prominent courses offered at SAM is the four-year bachelor’s degree in Music performance in association with McNally Smith College of Music, Minnesota. The arrangement allows students of SAM to transfer up to 60 credits (two years of study) towards completing their Bachelor of Music (B. Mus) degree from MSCM.
Under the Semester Abroad programme, a SAM student can take a semester abroad and study at MSCM, and an MSCM student can take semester abroad and study at SAM. This semester exchange program is a wonderful opportunity for SAM students, as it provides exposure to different cultures, new experiences, learning about traditional American performing styles and further career opportunities abroad.
