Bangalore : Padmalaya Dance Foundation in association with International Dance Alliance Ltd. (IDA) will be hosting the 11th edition of International Dance Festival 2014 on 29th November at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, in the city. Themed on ‘Legends’ this year’s festival, a tribute to Late Smt. Leela Sekhar, Founder Chairman, IDA, is a blend of four varied dance styles and 4 centuries of music. Karnataka Kala Tilaka Guru Smt. Radha Sridhar, Director, Venkatesha Natya Mandira, recipient of both Rajyotsava and Shantala Awards will grace the occasion as Chief Guest and Smt. Hyma Ramakrishna and Shri P C Ramakrishna will be the Guests’ of Honour.
Smt. Padma Murali of Padmalaya Foundation has played an instrumental role in bringing International Dance Alliance to Bangalore, 11 years ago and is the Advisory Council Member of the City’s Chapter. This International fest, a treat for classical music and dance lovers is sure to leave the audience spellbound with captivating performances by Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy and Group, Mysore, Janani Jayanth and Poornima Kaushik, Padmalaya Dance Foundation, Smt. Mrinalini Sadananda and Group, USA and Guru Padmini Ramachandran and Group, Bangalore. These artists will perform dance compositions of renowned music veterans in the field. Karnataka Kalasri Pustakam Ramaa will be bestowed with this year’s ‘Leela Sekhar Memorial Award’ for her sterling contribution to the field of classical music and dance.

Padmalaya Dance Foundation has been instrumental in providing a platform through IDA wherein very senior Gurus and artists share the stage with upcoming talent- something that is a rarity and is therefore a great opportunity for youngsters to interact with the doyens of the art forms. The event will also provide a platform for young and aspiring classical dancers to perform and exhibit their talent.”
