Four iconic films of Rituparno Ghosh to be screened at Annapurna International School of Film and Media

Hyderabad:  : Good news for Rituparno Ghosh fans.  Annapurna International School of Film and Media along with Moving Images is paying tribute to Rituparno Ghosh on his 50th birthday by organizing a four-day festival on the Rituparno Ghosh 204x300 Four iconic films of Rituparno Ghosh to be screened at Annapurna International School of Film and Mediafilmmaker from 30th August to 1st September.  Four of the director’s iconic films will be screened at the Preview Theatre inside Annapurna Studios, Banjara Hills.

Jayesh Ranjan, the Former Secretary of Tourism, Art and Culture for AP and also the Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, Hyderabad inaugurated the event today at Annapurna studios Preview Theater.

The festival opens today eventing with Ghosh’s National Award-winning film Unishe April, featuring Aparna Sen and Debashree Roy as a dancer-mother and her estranged daughter. Some of the director’s most acclaimed films Asukh, Abohoman and Chitaganda will also be screened at the festival.

A strong turnout is expected, with many from the film industry coming to catch these wonderful films on the big screen.

Chris Higgins, President of AISFM, said, “Rituparno Ghosh made an indelible mark on Indian cinema. His films have been an inspiration for so many filmmakers and cinema fans.”

Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “These are such important films to watch and understand, for anyone who loves cinema. We are very happy to join with Moving Images to present.”
