New Delhi: Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, wins a Tony Award post his Broadway debut for Best Actor for playing former President Lyndon B. Johnson in Robert Schenkkan’s All the Way on Broadway.
Renowned for portraying the main character Walter White in the Critically-Acclaimed Series – Breaking Bad, Cranston portrays Walter White’s character, a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine, in order to secure his family’s financial future before he dies, teaming with his former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). Breaking Bad is widely regarded as one of the greatest American television series of all time and among the most-watched cable shows on American television. Since its television debut Breaking Bad has been amongst the top ten television series of 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Breaking Bad currently airs on FX in India, at 11pm from Mon-Fri.
How I Met Your Mother star, Neil Patrick Harris also earned the Tony for performance by a leading actor in a musical, for his spellbinding portrait of an East German transgender rocker in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, also named best revival of a musical. How I Met Your Mother is currently airing its final season on Star World, 8pm from Monday to Friday.
